One day professional training course in Laser Tattoo Removal
Laser Tattoo Removal
Laser tattoo removal works by firing laser light into the tattoo which breaks the ink into tiny pieces, these little pieces are easy for the body to absorb. This allows the ink to be removed from the body itself. Laser tattoo removal avoids damaging the skin while removing the tattoo, unlike other tattoo removal methods.
Laser Tattoo Removal
Unwanted tattoos can be removed gradually over a series of sessions using a laser.
Our Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser produces rapid, short pulse widths of energy – this limits the healthy skin’s exposure to heat which makes treatments safe and fast. The laser vibrates the ink and breaks it down into tiny fragments. These are then removed by your body’s own cells and safely passed out of the body.
Tattoo’s will require multiple sessions before it’s fully removed. The number of sessions or treatments depends on how large your tattoo is, what sort of ink has been used and the length of time between your sessions. As a rough guide a ‘professional’ tattoo will need between 8 and 12 sessions whereas an ‘amateur’ tattoo might only require between 3 and 6. We will be able to give you a more accurate idea of the number of sessions required at your initial consultation.
How Does It Work?
Clients will need to attend for an initial consultation. Skin type and tattoo will be assessed, so to give a more accurate price and estimate number of treatments. Laser is not suitable for patients with skin type V or VI.
If the client has hair on the area of skin to be treated, it will need to shaved before your treatment appointment. During the treatment you will wear specially designed goggles to protect your eyes.
We use a hand piece which lightly touches your skin to direct the laser. The feeling of each short pulse is usually described as feeling like the ‘snap’ of a rubber band on the skin. In the vast majority of cases, having a tattoo removed using the laser is less painful or at worst – only the same – as having the tattoo done.
The sessions usually take about 10-30 minutes, depending on the size of the tattoo.
The tattoo should become progressively lighter with each treatment, but it’s a long, slow process.
How Does It Work?
Getting a tattoo might seem like a life-long commitment, but the good news is that it doesn’t have to be. Laser tattoo removal is the preferred option for those who want to be rid of their body art – and with good reason. It is a relatively quick and safe procedure that will leave your clients skin tattoo-free.
- Tattoos don’t go as deep as you think
Most people think that tattoo ink seeps deep into their skin, but in reality, it only penetrates into the dermis layer, just beneath the epidermis. This is deep enough that the appearance of the tattoo won’t be affected if your skin (epidermis) flakes.
- The rest of your skin will be protected
Some people fear laser tattoo removal because they’re worried about the effect it will have on their skin. The way the lasers work is by targeting the pigment that has been injected into your skin, before breaking it up into tiny particles.
Your immune system will remove the colouring for you, and the areas surrounding the tattoo will be unaffected. The lasers are so intense and specific that they only target the necessary areas, so you don’t have to be concerned about other parts of your body.
- Some colours are easier to remove than others
You might think that all tattoo ink is created equal – and this is true until you try to have your design removed. Generally speaking, some colours are easier to shift than others, with black, brown, green and dark blue usually at the simpler end of the spectrum.
This isn’t to say that other colours such as red, orange and yellow can’t be removed; just that the laser tattoo removal process might take a little longer.
- It’s all the rage!
If you want proof of just how popular laser tattoo removal is, then you just have to look at the long line of celebrities. From failed relationships to poor judgement during their teenage years, there are plenty of household names who have lived to regret their choice of body art.
Eva Longoria and Britney Spears, 50 Cent and Mark Wahlberg are among the famous faces who have opted to have their tattoos removed over recent years.
Perhaps one of the biggest names to undergo the procedure is Angelina Jolie, who was only too keen to have her ex-husband’s name removed from her arm. Her Billy Bob inscription was subject to laser treatment and has since been replaced with new ink plotting the coordinates of her family’s birthplaces.
- Treatments often take just a few minutes
Many people put off having their tattoos removed because they imagine it will take hours to complete. In reality, the procedure is quick and can be over in just a matter of minutes, depending on the size and position of the body art.
You will need to return for follow-up treatments as your skin and immune system need sufficient time to discard the pigment particles.
Do I need to bring a model?

So many of our clients have told just the reason for the popularity of our courses is due to the fact that our certification works on the basis that you are not tied to any specific brand. You are taught the skill set then you can use any brand to then go on and do the treatment with your own chosen brands. Importantly as we teach effective and safe methods with products our tutors love to use but do not insist on the students who attend to have to continue with any one given brand afterwards to gain insurance and use what they have learned with us professionally.
